This report provides a statistical overview of sprinkler presence and performance in reported fires. This information is essential for understanding the prevalence, impact, reliability, and effectiveness of these systems and increasing their positive impact. Because most fire deaths are caused by home fires, additional details are provided on sprinklers in fires in these properties.
Estimates were derived from the details collected by the US Fire Administration’s (USFA’s) National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) and NFPA’s annual fire department experience survey.
Unless otherwise specified, estimates in this report exclude fires in properties under construction. In addition, the casualty and loss estimates can be heavily influenced by the inclusion or exclusion of one unusually serious fire.
Het rapport is in 2024 gepubliceerd maar bevat gegevens uit de periode 2017 – 2021.
